While I agree with a couple of your points (it does need to be scheduled when it’s not so hot), I also see the bright side. Lots of people have a great time at Bele Chere, and even though it is inconvenient for those of us who live and/or work downtown, it is still a fun atmosphere and overall a good thing for the city. Just do like the rest of the locals… stay far, far away!

I’d rather experience our beautiful downtown when it’s not overrun by a bunch of rude out-of-towners baking and sweating and getting all beery all over the place.

And why is this scheduled during some of the hottest days of the year? Do the planners not understand that downtown asphalt and concrete streets suck in the mid-summer sun’s heat and hold it. I sweated so profusely last year that the headband around my straw hat was black with perspiration. I was so miserable I couldn’t enjoy the bands. We sought shelter in a cool bar and I swore never to undertake this again–at least until it was moved to a cooler season.

This event is a drag.

Shoji spa was my best spa expierence ever. The first time my “Mountain Man” treated me to the spa for my birthday in February it was breath taking in the snow with the lights in the valley sparkling like tiny chritmas light down below and the stars lite up the night’s sky above us. Total relaxation at it’s best. The next time I took him there for Father’s Day and it was just as beautiful with the lush mountain landscaping surrounding us. I would suggest the massage oil they sell in the lobby, it’s an awesome daily moisterizer during those cold winter months and the scent of the oil brings back those unforgetable memories!!!

I have a letter written on letterhead stationary picturing the old Battery Park Hotel dated September 20, 1922. It was written by a salesman that worked for the company I am now retired from. He was staying at the hotel when the letter was written.

Hi I’m a mom of two small children and one on the way. My husband doesn’t fish, nor do I think he will pick it up as a hobby any time soon. But I am interested in adding trout more regularly to our diet, especially now that its in season. Where can I buy local trout?

I salute the fact that you are trying to become a citizen the legal way. I hope very much that you can get your wish and return to live in Asheville for the rest of your life. We who were born here are very fortunate indeed and people like you are very much appreciated. Just curious but where do you currently live?
